It has been ages since I've done a book in indesign. And oh god, now I remember why I don't books anymore. Indesign is just horrible... Why don't masters just won't work as a component does in Figma? life would be so much easier...

It's chaotic. It has many great features but the main ones are hidden to much. It's typical Adobe, they kept adding new great and not so great stuff. But the core that made the tools great got sidelined and hidden.
