does stoicism appeal to you as a woman? i often see men posting about it or engaging with it more than women, but have never taken the time (yet) to reflect on why that may be.

As a woman who is prone to stoicism, I would say that it has not been a benefit to me whatsoever - more like a detriment. Even a good friend of mine once said she was amazed that nothing ever bothers me and was surprised when I revealed that was not the case. She told me that I have the brain of a man, but the heart of woman. But people tend to think you don't feel anything or don't care or that you'e somehow invincible. There are times where it can be beneficial, like in an emergency or stressful situation. We tend to keep our cool. We're survivors. But when dealing with interpersonal relationships it kind of sucks as I am not the norm as a woman. Do men tend to value stoicism in themselves?
