curious what the community thinks about this since its a sentiment i see pop up now and then my off the cuff take is that old/current nouns voters/members generally struggle to see new influential voters enter, its a power shift dynamic that is built into nouns but can feel uncertain and unpredictable* insofar nouns is a train that is both built and wrecked at the same time (h/t mikegood), the status quo feels 'safe' and 'steady' and in some ways its 'the mess we understand' i wont pretend im fully immune to the feeling of uncertainty, but i think ive learned to embrace it over the years. and i think you can make a case for this cyclical nature of nouns voters/power blocks being 'a very good thing' since it naturally combats stagnation which is a common poison for any org and, honestly, would probably kill nouns rather quickly were we to shut off auctions or otherwise ossify the voter base (note: not focused on or against mikegood, his comment is just what sparked the thought)

I know we talk about ⌐◨-◨ not being a co etc. but the path of hi spend dreamer builder -> transition to a more serious. Long term operators. The classic. VC /Founder. -> take public -> bring in new management (Most founders, give a long enough opportunity, would kill their company) New blood. New perspective. I think it’s all good. Have to tear muscle to build it.

My issue with the current setup is that existing holders often get to punch down while newcomers are left to figure things out alone. I’ve dealt with misdirection, lies, and people pretending to be something they’re not, both within Nouns and professionally. For over a year, when Cares made predictions about the DAO’s trajectory, I was constantly told, “The money is here to spend—don’t worry about the bleed.” But it’s clear now that mindset only served to dismiss real concerns and avoid taking proactive steps. Meanwhile, others claimed to be building support systems that weren’t actually happening. There’s a protective layer and gatekeeping mechanism that’s tough to understand. I’m hopeful DUNA and new teams can address this and create a more open, supportive ecosystem. Thanks for sparking the conversation.

Again... these blocks are unnaturally accumulating tokens. Faster than 1 per day if it is a collaboration between all of these accounts. Sometimes it feels like people aren't actually watching so closely.. How do you watch an account like this and think "this is good for the experiment?" bot is buying votes and delegating them to 5gram.. They have 95 votes with 24 more sitting in the bot wallet. This has nothing to do with Jane and Dusk's blocks currently as far as I know? But I'm sure im wrong. https://www.nouns.camp/voters/5gram.eth The big issue here is the voting history to me. This would be GREAT... if they voted... but accumulating this many votes without showing any sort of signal along the way doesn't feel bad to you at all?

I appreciate the questions raised…a few things: Selectively using business terminology to classify / reclassify issues inside of a decentralized organization can muddy these discussions…if a dwindling treasury with minimal returns isn’t stagnation, I truly don’t know what is. Resistance to change is also a symptom of stagnation, which is too often the soup of the day here. If uncertainty and unpredictability are hallmark dynamics of Nouns, then getting comfortable with being uncomfortable should also be an acceptable reality. What I sense from the exchanges in this thread is a resistance to the truth that organization and oversight beyond a weekly Discord call has been sorely needed for quite some time and the conversation is now being had at a difficult moment of Nouns’ making.

Feeling like one group who I don’t know can push whatever they want through is a bad feeling.

very little in Experiments is predictable in the the first place. But we were smart to bake in a directional prediction by open sourcing the protocol and CC0-ing the brand.

Their votes feel authentic, optimistic, protective of the treasury, and nounish. The DAO needs big blocks to debate and course correct in every direction.
