if you join an angel fund: what happens if you don't participate in a capital call?

context: I've already contributed 50% of the required amount as was required at the time of joining, but I don't see this fund going anywhere, so now that they're requesting an additional 25% I'm hesitating to join.

My understanding of most agreements is that right off the bat you are signing a commitment for the full amount. The amount just gets called down at different times. So basically not participating is like not paying a bill you owe. Best case, reputation hit. Worst case, legal action.
