People don’t talk about this but when you become a founder your lifestyle has to change - you have to be more frugal. 

Every dollar I spend on myself I feel that I’m taking life away from my company. I’d go so far to say I feel guilty for spending. It doesn’t consume me btw, and I have larger problems to deal with, but just an observation 

I notice other founders who are independently wealthy tend to continue spending as regular and I also think it will contribute to the demise of their company unless they’re like $5m+ cash rich

The founder’s wallet is often the first cap table. Your spending sets the tone, whether you realize it or not
