As a serial dabbler, I tend to focus on the fact that I gave up on so many things. But as @camilla said, every activity we spend time on gives us skills and experience that enrich our life. 

Today I want to celebrate activities that I gave up on, and what they have given me.

And I agree so much with learning about yourself! The general idea in society is that you should settle on one thing, and if you give it up without any "achievements" then you're a failure 🙄 But learning what you like is much more important!

You could say me too but I've never! viewed it as giving up. It's learning about yourself & how you want to spend your life. It's intrinsically human to change our minds (and grow).

I don't consider anything given up. I see things as cyclical interests, and learning them helps me build on other things.

Now that my daughter is small, I had to give up mountain climbing. They gave me self-confidence, reliable friends and a love for the mountains and camping life for the rest of my life.And also a mountaineer badge😃
