@yanowitz completely agree with your take about conferences. I'm quite sure that most of the side events would fit into the main conference building. It would make it easier to hop from one to another and meet more people. We need to defragment it!

I am glad that I am not the only one terrified by sharks. I can handle spiders, snakes... whatever. But if I saw a shark, I would be dead in a second. I never feel good in open water...

"Too much infra, too little apps!" is the core narrative rn. Apps are crucial, but we still haven't solved issues like: Move value from fiat-> onchain-> app on any chain without forcing the user to know on which chain the app is. If you're an infra builder, please keep it up! We need you!

Ethereum got another exec client! This one is on steroids! But that's not all! Can't wait to see the first execution extensions live! = these are apps built inside of Reth to have first-hand access to info about state and reorgs. Especially useful for oracles, indexers or explorers. https://x.com/gakonst/status/1805920383390154845

Have been diving deeper into EigenLayer and while doing so, I have come across two new realizations:

I think that ZkSync did an amazing job with the airdrop. - 67% goes to community - the airdrop allocation design was based on thinking of the long-term behavior of an average real user - no further games with points I would find it very hard to complain.

I agree with Justin that economic security is not a meme. Here is why: Social slashing requires coordination. Any coordination is slow and messy. Economic security is a preventive measure that reduces the motivation to conduct an attack in the first place. https://x.com/BanklessHQ/status/1797618795634098305

I have to say that the Autonomous Worlds ep was mind-broadening. Here are some of the thoughts that stuck with me: 1) Math creates another universe, and computers turn it into multiplayer with interobjective reality. 2) Autonomous Worlds builds on this concept to push blockchains beyond read, write, and own.

One of crypto's superpowers is that teams like Eigenlayer listen to people and are willing to adjust plans based on the feedback But I really hope that the lesson we'll take from this won't be that bullying great teams pays off Any disagreement can be expressed in a constructive way imo.

This is how I view EIGEN and why I am actually happy with the airdrop.

EIGEN massively broadens the innovation Eigenlayer brings. Why? It's not just a gov token. It serves for slashing faults that aren't objective and require a social consensus - e.g. data availability, oracle results, predictions Without overwhelming Ethereum! 👇 https://x.com/jon_charb/status/1785000509323055226

BOLD is out and it's a big deal for L2s. It allows anyone to check the Arbitrum's state and challenge incorrect claims. Meaning even one honest validator can win over the whole world of dishonest participants just by running BOLD. Abritrum keeps pushing rollup tech to the endgame! medium.com/p/2a6cd39e9bba

Quite surprised by so many takes about Karak being superior because it expands restaking beyond ETH. Actually, EigenLayer has restaking of any token on its roadmap from the very beginning. TMK, they just plan to add it later. The advantage of Karak can be restaking of non-EVM tokens and restaking via L2s directly

Totally agree with the recent discussion about Marginfi vs Solend. Market is ruthless, and you must fight for your place in it. However, this doesn't mean that there isn't room for respect. Quite the opposite. I do believe that you can judge the quality of a person/project by their reaction in difficult situations.

Agglayer is incredibly exciting Neutral and almost rug-proof layer that can unite chains irrespective of the stack, sequencer, or VM type If we can persuade all L2s (and L1s) to plug in, we'll get a killer solution Been learning about Agglayer for a while, but this ep really helped me fill in the missing pieces.

Funny to see so many tweets surprised by seeing Ethereum researchers among Ellipse Labs' investors Ellipse is very active in Solana research, including the fee marke,t and Justin Drake, Mike Neuder, Tim Beiko and others have always supported researching other VMs, approaches, and designs Innovation benefits everyone

This article gives all the reasons why I've been for this proposal To me, Ethereum is a socio-economic system with a strong value-bearing asset at heart. Value has always been fundamental to coordination, and so it's to crypto. If we want to build a long-lasting system, it must be efficient and self-sustaining

To cite @caspar, when you listening to the ep/read the proposal: Don't compare it to the current state but compare the long-term equilibria we can arrive at under different curves (and approaches). I think that it's an important perspective to keep in mind when thinking of this topic.

What an excellent debate! If you're interested in staking and Ethereum economics, you'll love this ep about the Issuance Curve Adjustment Proposal. Main goal: - Find a curve that will take us to the end goal Discussions are much appreciated! https://youtu.be/ivynR3RI3_Y?si=yitRb0hCMA34Bkia
