Opus 2 OPUS 2 Faber-castell pencil & water color paints, 24 Carat Gold + Premium Silver Cotton Rag paper. 40 x 54 in. Integration of Opposites a study in contrasts. The hourglass form commanding the center of attention, symbolizing the fragile balance of time. Gold and Silver pigments hint at body and mind, light and dark, sun and moon—opposites in constant dialogue. Water elements ripple gently through the piece, representing the fluidity between the conscious and unconscious mind. The inverted triangles hints at a feminine figure, guiding the viewer through layers of form and abstraction. Like its predecessor, Opus 2 reveals its symbols and mysteries in layers—each viewing offering a new perspective, inviting a patient and quiet reflection.

Geopoliticus Child Watching the Birth of the New Man by Salvador DalĂ (1943) Another one of well-known artworks of Dali's prophetic gift is now in the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida. The Renaissance figure in the lower right corner of the picture is an allegory of the Old World, once capable of great accomplishments, living out its last days. Dali depicts the entire civilization of the Old World as a rather biological process, while in the other hemisphere, a New Man is about to be born.

The Lady of Shalott Tennyson’s famous poem told the story of a cursed woman with a doomed fate, and William Waterhouse’s 1888 painting captures her in all her poetry and tragedy. The sorrowful road to death for the Lady of Shalott is clear: the cold, grey skies and dark waters contrasted against the white of the dress, the detail of the tapestry, the life of a lady in the process of fading. We can just about hear her as she sings her final song – ‘a long-drawn carol, mournful, holy.’ A painting both spooky and beautiful; a powerful artistic representation of a reluctant goodbye.
