The Central Bank will check the volume of cross-border transfers in cryptocurrency The Bank of Russia plans to conduct a survey of cross-border transfers of citizens related to the purchase of crypto assets in the fourth quarter of 2024 and the first quarter of 2025. The purpose of the survey is to assess the volume of such transactions and the possibility of identifying them among all cross-border transfers of individuals. Several large banks will take part in the survey, including the Asia-Pacific Bank, Avangard, Ak Bars, Raiffeisenbank and others. The regulator intends to obtain more accurate data on how much money Russians transfer abroad using cryptocurrency.
