as someone who straight up asked @dwr.eth for a job once and regularly gets tagged in “hire ted” casts or DCs

i’m 10000% aligned with his take on focusing on product and not marketing for growth

in fact, my POV is that it would be dumb AF to hire a marketing team right now

what would they do? what would i do?

last cycle Cardano(no mainnet, no apps) hired McCann Dublin (Microsoft etc.) which played a part in rocketing them from a 1b to 100b! market cap. i appreciate the sentiment but it can make a huge difference in the right conditions. even now my normie friends ask about cardano way more than ethereum.

i mean, how do you even market social media though? i feel like it's a different breed of product that requires something else to grow, primarily trust (because it's about networking). peddling farcaster on the streets is like selling drugs. although i can see the value just showing up in conferences (stealthily), banners everywhere, no panel because as soon as you start speaking about farcaster it feels forced.
