Has anyone here taken any of the free online college courses available through institutions like MIT, Stanford, or Coursera?
I hold an undergraduate degree in Environmental Engineering and have spent my career in Software Engineering and general business/management.
In the upcoming year, I will have a bit more personal time, and I'm thinking about trying one of these courses. I'm interested in hearing about others' experiences. Over the years, I've engaged in continuous learning through blogs, books, talks, and some formal professional training. However, I'm suddenly feeling a strong desire for a classroom environment and a more structured curriculum.
My main question is whether to pursue computer science—so I can understand the difference between workplace learning and academic teaching—or humanities, as I feel I missed that aspect in college. 0 reply
