The URL -> IRL pipeline continues! I finally bought and moved into my house in Nagano 🙏🙏🙏 It was abandoned for ~5 years by a family that moved to Chiba. Such a beautiful, and massive space, can’t wait to start work restoring it and making it my own. Going to go heavy on the wabisani for first floor. Second floor will be more luxury/western. Truly grateful to the wonderful family that sold it to me. They even came back to town to meet me in person and close the deal which was a pleasant surprise ☺️ To new years and new beginnings 🌞🍾💕

The 茶室 tea house we’ve been building this month is coming along well. @zujapan x Akiya Collective collab ftw! We lifted the main roof beam by hand. Even with two 6+ foot tall young lads it was a struggle properly setting the ~80kg log into place. Since its traditional japanese style construction with wood joinery, theres no screws or nails. Mike precut the log so it fits perfectly in place ontop of the posts. No room for mistakes We stopped at a local lumberyard to get planks for the roofing this morning. It was fun practicing my Japanese with the ojisan owner who is a true OG. Later I belayed Mike while he cut the roof planks to size with a handsaw while standing on the newly built roof. A but sketch but he’s an expert and still has all his fingers.

Cheffed up some homemade fried chicken and conbini waffles for @zujapan residents today. Made it korean style with gochujang based marinade and double layer breading for extra crispyness 👅
