I appreciate my dad because he relentlessly taught me not to care about money or material things in my 20s I resented it a bit, because life hit and I was like "wait wtf man I need money to live why didn't you tell me to maximize how much money I can earn, I can't get by on hippie vibes" but I think there's wisdom in that because of how brutally life teaches you money matters while it's not as obvious that the small things in life are priceless he focused on teaching me the harder lesson

We live in a reality that forces us to depend on money to be able to limit ourselves, what your father taught you is worth more than all the money in the world, apart from the fact that it made you the person you are today, or A round of applause for all those parents who leave us more than just money, but also critical thinking and a good foundation for life.
