Code doesn’t seem to be down? https://github.com/skiff-org I don’t think they ever open sourced their backend. They didn’t use an OSS license AFAICT: CC-NonCommercial-ShareAlike https://github.com/skiff-org/skiff-apps/blob/main/LICENSE Which is similar to your Obsidian license (yours is better/well written)

I moved away from running my life in Notion when I realized they just want to trap you and suck your wallet dry for life. It’s clear that their next goal is to create a whole OS with email, calendar, and files built in. I won’t touch it. Notion is like Google: a place where good ideas/tech go to die.

😲 this is really bad. I have been running my own company for 10 years building only open source software. Hard as hell but doable. And this tells you who and how the new owners play. Be careful out there.

imo the idea of e2e encrypted email clients was a false promise from the start. sure you can privately mail to your one friend who’s also on skiff. but all other traffic will still hit skiffs servers in plain text :/
