blockchains allow the layman to experiment within gate-kept disciplines (economics, governance) at unprecedented speed yes there will be failed experiments yet the *ability* to experiment is the superpower eventually, someone could find a great way to design the society of the future

To be fair I don't think these things are really gate-kept but rather crypto breaks through some quite fundamental barriers. A fun thought exercise is always to imagine how you would go about creating your own currency 20 years ago... start by buying a printer?

I agree barriers is a better way to frame it, digital printers powered by the ink of permissionless innovation by gatekept i was trying to get towards the idea that very few people have held the reigns on societal/economic design, & as such their solutions may not capture the full scope of human ingenuity
