People who try to replace Goodreads don't understand its gravity. It's basically a Corvair with a new paint job at this point, yet the segments you speak of plus the largest collection of books (last I checked) make it unassailable. Took me a long time to realize that Amazon isn't fixing any of the issues because it doesn't need to. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Kent I told my friend I was going to install this and canโ€™t bring myself to do it ๐Ÿ˜† I know what will happen and that is Iโ€™ll fruitlessly update 2 apps in parallel until I give up on the one with less books and less of my network

Haha, exactly! My personal frustration with GR is its recommendation engine. When I tried it last, it suggested a novel in Greek. Not sure why because I definitely don't speak Greek. Since I tend to spend up to an hour trawling Amazon to find a book to read, it's really annoying that Goodreads can't deliver me great recommendation. FWIW, Amazon's recs aren't very good either, at least for me. I tried creating my own engine, but had to add books myself because Goodreads doesn't give access to its library. Come to think of it, a recommendation engine would work great as a frame if it could get access to a library of books.
