I despair because okay. I don’t know how you can learn about what we’ve done to chickens and not see that coming for US. THE HUMANS Chicken is Engineered like a widget Breasts so big they can’t stand up Crowded and panting in misery inside huge farms But it’s fine, you say it’s just a chicken. Do you think any of our overlords, right or left, respect our essential humanity to the point they would be above doing this to your descendants? Brain implanted, genetically engineered, your whole existence as a widget to suit THEM? And their machines? They see me, you, and almost everyone as a teeming idiot morass. You are not a child of God, you are human capital. You are a chicken to them. You are disposable. And they have sold people on this idea, so they basically ask for it. “E/acc”!!!!!!

I do think this is a worrying trend we’re seeing among AI folks. They believe LLMs confirm their priors about the importance of IQ and genetics, even if models are nothing like people.

I think God will bring forth the Day of Judgement before that happens. I'm also pretty skeptical that we will become a tier1/2 civilisation before that as well.
