Not necessarily. I've been pretty vocal that I think some form of staking is fine, but I don't think that removing openrank is a good move. It's clearly improved the Farcaster experience exponentially. The site isn't riddled with low effort 'comment for my tips' spam anymore. Or at least not as much as it was in prior seasons.
