Museum of Robots and Artificial Intelligence in Seoul, South Korea 🤖 The Museum of Robots and Artificial Intelligence (RAIM) in Seoul will open in 2024. Melike Altınışık architects designed an egg-shaped building with a metal facade assembled by robots. Inside, visitors will be able to learn how robots with artificial intelligence will affect various industries. It is more than a museum — it serves as a platform for the development of applied AI. The building itself demonstrates this by automatically adjusting the temperature and lighting for autonomous operation.

Fish Building in Hyderabad, India 🐟 The National Fisheries Development Council building in Hyderabad, commonly known as the "Fish House," mimics aquatic life with curved scales and a gaping entrance. However, the four-storey building creatively houses offices, not a seafood processing workshop. These offices serve as a center for research, innovation and collaboration in the field of aquaculture. The bold shape of the building leaves an unforgettable impression of the headquarters of the institution. An open architectural reference to the industry effectively advertises the mission of the National Fisheries Development Council (NFDC) through the exterior alone.

Duck House on Long Island, USA 🦆 The Big Duck building on Long Island, built in 1931, was modeled as an advertisement in the shape of a giant duck for the sale of eggs. But his form inspired the nascent movement. Being a roadside monument, it had a wide impact, destroying ideas of what buildings could look like besides houses and towers. Today, this project has the status of a historical landmark. There is also a shop where tourists can buy "duck souvenirs".

Atomium, Brussels, Belgium The Atomium, originally built for the Brussels World's Fair in 1958, was designed by engineer Andre Waterkane and architects Andre and Jean Polak. The 335 ft (102 m) high stainless steel building consists of nine spheres connected in the form of an elementary cell of crystalline iron. Pipes connect the spheres along a dozen edges of the cube, as well as all eight vertices with a center. Escalators and elevators in the pipes connect five usable pipes that are often used for public events. The four upper spheres are unsafe and therefore closed to the public. The Atomium is one of the most unique buildings in the world, which has a museum, an observation deck, entertainment facilities and a restaurant. The panoramic restaurant Belgium Taste is located in the topmost sphere on the 8th floor. It offers spectacular views from its windows. The remaining areas accessible to the public are reserved for exhibitions.

Bubble Palace (Paris, France) 🫧 And this unusual place, which at first glance it is difficult to call a building or a house, is the result of the work of designer Pierre Cardin and Antti Lovag, the man who designed these 1200 sq.m. concrete bubbles. The rather complex bubble structure consists of many modules, which house luxury apartments with several pools, terraces and even a 500-seat amphitheater. The unusual house was built in 1992 and was originally intended for a local industrialist. The idea was for the people living here to feel the spirit of the prehistoric era. The absence of sharp corners and straight lines is explained by the taste preferences of Lovag, who considers such geometry to be a manifestation of aggression towards nature.

The Montreal Biosphere 🌐 This impressive huge dome was designed by Buckminster Fuller, an American architect and inventor. The dome was built for the 1967 World's Fair in Montreal. The giant biosphere is nothing but a steel ball. Steel makes the structure strong, and the polyhedron structure allows it to withstand high pressure. This futuristic building resembles a precious piece of jewelry. Once there were objects from real spacecraft of the Apollo mission as exhibits. Incredibly cool. And it also appeared on the TV show "Battlestar Galactica" in 1978 and 79. Reflecting the lights, the biosphere illuminates the space around.

Piano House Exhibition Center, Huainan, China 🎹 The building in Huainan County is made in the form of a violin and a piano, but has nothing to do with music. There is an escalator in the violin, and an exhibition center in the piano. The building was designed by students of the Faculty of Architecture of Hefei University of Technology together with designers from Huainan Fangkai Decoration Project Co.

Poland, Sopot: Crooked house 🏠 The main requirement that was set before the architects, who eventually became the creators of the Crooked House, is unusual. However, they did an excellent job with this task. Looking at this structure, you might think that it flowed from the sun, but an optical illusion plays a role here. Although the crooked house is actually crooked and there is not a single right angle in it. The customer of such an unusual building was the owners of other shopping centers, who planned to get a building that would attract customers by its appearance alone. In order to build a shopping center, a variety of materials and technologies were used. The shopping center, which houses shops, cafes, and bars, is open at night. Highlighted in a certain way, it becomes even more interesting and exciting. Krivoy Dom is a multiple winner of various competitions and has been awarded for its uniqueness and attractiveness.

Thailand, Chiang Rai, White Temple🛕 Despite the fact that this temple is located outside the city, it is always full of tourists. It is not surprising, because its architecture is truly impressive, as well as the materials from which it is made. There is actually something to see here, tourists call it the most unusual and impressive Buddhist temple. The White Temple got its name due to the fact that the material from which it was made looked more like ice. This effect was achieved on purpose, because the builder of the temple specially put pieces of glass into the plaster in order to reflect the sun from the walls. This effect is especially beautiful in the rays of dawn or sunset. The construction of the temple is still ongoing, because the artist builds it exclusively at his own expense, the way he likes.

The Palace of Arts of Queen Sofia, Spain 👸 The world's tallest opera house is located in Valencia. It was built on the drained bottom of the Turia River by architect Santiago Calatrava and is part of the architectural ensemble "City of Arts and Sciences". The shape of the palace evokes different associations. For some it is the helmet of a medieval Spanish warrior, for others it is a diving dolphin. The Valencia Opera is surrounded by pools and parks on all sides. And the most impressive part of it is the arched mosaic roof made of laminated steel. Despite the weight of 3 tons, it is attached with only two supports. The futuristic palace is designed in the style of a biotech. The construction lasted for ten years, as a result it became the last of the five bizarre buildings of the "city".

St. Mary's Ex 30, United Kingdom 🚀 St. Mary's Ex 30 is London's first environmentally friendly skyscraper. It is an elongated rounded building in the biotech style, which consists of 41 floors. Due to its unusual design and the energy of solar panels, it is twice as economical as other skyscrapers of a similar size. And its aerodynamic shape increases the amount of natural light and air. The high-rise was named after the street on which it was built. Until 1992, the Baltic Stock Exchange was located here, which was blown up during one of the terrorist attacks. Today, this is recalled by the epitaphs on the stone benches at the base of the tower. Another memorial points to the burial place of an ancient Roman girl, whose remains were found during the construction of the tower.

Guggenheim Museum, Spain An unusual museum of modern art is built on the banks of the Nervion River in Bilbao. In 1997, he turned a once tiny industrial town into a cultural metropolis and a tourist center. This phenomenon has been called the "Bilbao effect". To some, the huge steel structure resembles a roller coaster, to others — an alien shipwrecked. The local population has long protested against the construction of the museum: people wanted to use the allocated €85 million to modernize factories. These costs have paid off: In the first year alone, 1.3 million people visited the art object. The spectacular deconstructivist building was erected in four years. Externally, the Guggenheim Museum is a complex of interconnected buildings made of titanium and glass. The entrance to the building is decorated with huge sculptures: a nine-meter spider, a puppy made of flowers and a bouquet of tulips. The interior of the museum is no less interesting — it resembles a three-story maze📐
