"transportable reputation" in the sense that no-one can take your points away. 

From a builder/founder perspective, having points on-chain makes it easier to work with other products. You don't have to wait for the team to make their API endpoints public.

what do you think is the biggest use case for points beign on-chain? Trust?

Seen a few folks complain about paying gas for point claim etc. (wherever on chain points as a concept exists)
