fwiw This outbreak was very well forecast, and the NWS had forecast a very high chance of severe storms, they actually underperformed in terms of intensity in Alabama and later in the day 100 percent for solid funding of NWS, just would prefer the reporting doesn’t use natural disasters to make the argument.

What worries me greatly is that NOAA hosts a lot of good data like rainfall probabilities and SLR projections. With the current political climate, I wouldn't be surprised to see that data pulled. This data is routinely used to plan critical infrastructure projects and pulling it will add additional hurdles, cost, and confusion.
