The penultimate verse of Surat Al-Kahf, which the Prophet used to recite on Friday night and day, always strikes me. I find in it a declaration of the greatness of Allah Almighty's words. It emphasizes that even if the sea were ink for writing His words, it would dry out before exhausting His limitless wisdom. The verse goes beyond highlighting the quality of speech to Allah and the Qur'an being a part of His words. It also underscores the manifestation of His power in the universe and creation.
The unending words of Allah serve as evidence that His creation is continuous and limitless because speech is the tool of creation. As the Quran states, "[His command is only when He intends a thing that He says to it, 'Be,' and it is]." The everlasting bliss of Paradise, as explained in the previous two verses, stems from Allah's continuous and permanent creation.
