@jessepollak coinbase app + base wallet causes so much confusion amongst the normies I truly believe something needs to be done to compete against other exchanges / wallets. I had individual sessions with a few people I am trying to onboard and every single one of them kept asking me questions about the difference of coinbase and coinbase wallet and the need to connect both.

I usually simplify the explanation by saying, 'one provides a base name while the other doesn’t.'

This approach helps avoid the complexity of differentiating between custodial and non-custodial wallets, especially when the main focus is onboarding.  

So I just lead with the incentive, and then later, when the community is engaged in other activities like Passport IDing for Gitcoin donations and platforms like Coinbase come up, we provide a more detailed explanation.

By then, they’re already invested and more open to understanding the distinctions.
