Hello! My wife's cat, who was with her for 24 years (a long life!), has passed away. She is heartbroken. I don't know what to say to her😭

I'm so sorry to hear that. It's certainly a long time, and cats are members of the family to many of us. I'd just be there with her, make sure she knows what a special cat they were, and how they will always be remembered as part of the family. I imagine it'll take a while for that pain to go away. I know that I would be devastated. 🙏😭 In time, maybe she would open her heart up to another cat? Not to replace her old friend, but as a new relationship. Best of luck my frenpai. 💜😿

Hello friends! My wife lost her cat and is totally depressed. She has been to a psychiatrist.😿 I will be there for her for many years to come. Thank you for listening. Oh yeah, I read your post about power badges a while back! That was a very good post.Good day!

Thank you for the update frenpai! 🙏😿 If a psychiatrist helps her to deal with the grief, I think that's a great thing to do. I hope that she will get over his death soon, but I can understand how the loss could totally devastate someone. I feel my cats are part of my family, and I would feel their loss like a human death. It's not something that you can get over in a day, week, or even months. Healing will take time. She is lucky to have you by her side. 💜 (And thank you for mentioning the PB article, it was a long time ago, and everything has changed since then, but I'm so glad you liked it!)

She used to say, "20 years for a cat is 100 years for a human." As you say, cats and humans are important family members. I'll make her an egg sandwich to cheer her up a little. I hope you and your cats are doing well.

Very true! It's amazing to have lived 24 years... for a cat, that is absolutely rare! They must have been very happy and healthy with you folks. My cats are well, thank you! They're sleeping together now in the cat bed downstairs. I'll give them a cuddle and head to bed soon myself!
