Filecoin Pulse (https://filecoinpulse.pages.dev), the PoC where I'm publishing most of the data and metrics has received lots of updates. But more importantly, it is now also fully open source! https://github.com/davidgasquez/filecoin-pulse

You can find the code in GitHub and the up to date datasets on IPFS. - Code: https://github.com/davidgasquez/filecoin-data-portal - Datasets: https://filecoindataportal.davidgasquez.com/data/ Now, you can also get access to some datasets via Google Sheets! Check out this one gathering lots of metrics for Storage Providers. ๐Ÿ‘‡ https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hC5HwuiqQvQcVvV06n3SH0wKkZwbw20EufGYHSyENs0

Since these spreadsheets are updated every few days, users can reference it or import (IMPORTRANGE) and build downstream segments/charts that will remain up to date.

I'm pushing some of the Filecoin Data Portal datasets to Google Sheets. Feels weird, but already seen folks use them to dig and build their own visualizations! This is how the Filecoin Clients one looks like! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15xi39OheVJ-_WyI7sxwmvgMIVFkZN07NOYWLe5iKXnI

Finished a post about the pattern I've been iterating on to build lean Open Data Portals. ๐ŸŒ The key ideas: - Modern open source tools and formats (DuckDB, Dagster, dbt, Parquet) - Version controlled declarative transformations - Build and Serve phases https://davidgasquez.com/modern-open-data-portals/

If you're not using them and work with VS Code, check them out! See if you can add one of the templates to your repository and take it from there.

Development Containers (containers.dev) and GitHub Codespaces (github.com/features/codespaces) are not as popular as they should be. They are incredible for development workflows and makes my life so much easier. Specially as a Python developer.

Tinybird team rocks! They're doing awesome stuff on top of Clickhouse and they're probably the easiest way to get started with it.

What are some underrated and simple statistical techniques that can help folks graps "data" better? These two have been helpful in my experience: - Time Lagged Conversions to show conversion rates. - Process Behaviour Charts to understand variation.
