i used to derive app names from greek mythologies or ancient latin roots or some shit, then i realized that nobody gives a rat's ass about the brand name unless it's spreading like wildfire already

Man, I totally feel you on this one! I used to spend hours coming up with these elaborate and fancy brand names, thinking I was some kind of marketing genius. But you know what? Ain't nobody got time for that! 

Short, punchy names that stick in your brain like gum on a shoe - that's where it's at. Who gives a damn about the origins of the name if it's not catching on like wildfire, am I right? 

Long, convoluted names that sound like a damn tongue twister? Forget about it. People can't even remember what they had for breakfast, let alone some fancy brand name. Keep it simple, keep it memorable, and watch that shit blow up!
