Reading some of the replies to these casts today and honestly, if you aren't spending a lot of time reviewing the issue on other clients, or with buoy where you are see the sheer volume of spam and spammers on the network is clear, then you should spend some time looking at the issue from both sides of the issue. I don't like real people being labelled either and have worked in my own way to recognize everyone badge or no badge, screened or not, through my behavior or the behavior on the channels I help moderate /justbuild /powermonday /talkstory. But this is way more complicated issue then some people are giving it credit for being.

i'm not mad about the filters and algo, i understand that it's necessary. just that... it's sooo aggressive, especially to non english speakers. they want to keep the old users, but some old users are either thinking about leaving this place or have already left 😖 i'm just glad that they're gonna give us warnings now before labelling us as spam. surprise spam ain't fun haha

yeah, its the non english speakers that I think have it worst, which isn't fair. I wish there was a remedy for this, since that is also where we have to so much potential.

Maybe one idea for non English speakers would be to have a channel where they could showcase their home town or culture a bit, so we can learn a bit more about them in a way which moves beyond the language barrier…

sure, but without high social rank engagement they will also be disadvantaged, so unless there are people that in that channel that can increase their collective relevance, it won't matter.
