Having a farewell party for one of my best friends in the world with some quality stuff Gonna smoke a ton of weed and get drunk These moments always hit me, mixed feelings you know.. being happy for my friend leaving to another country but also super sad cause im gonna miss him as fuck

I lost my best friend when I was young like you; it was 16 years ago, and I still think about him every day. You will laugh and cry at the same time as you remember the good times spent with him. 💜

Mine was about that same amount of time, just before I started my family. I tell my kids all of time that he would have been their favorite uncle. You never fill the hole it leaves inside of you, but with some work you learn to live, love, and find joy around it. But it always stays a part of you. 💛

Everyone experiences grief in their own way. Remembering the good memories helps to cope with living without your friend. For a little backstory, my friend was supposed to come visit me so we could have another wild night, but he never came. He passed away on the toilet 💩 from a stroke before he could drive over to see me. He never made it. It was his father who called me the next day using my friend’s phone to explain that he was in intensive care and that they were going to pull the plug. Gulp.

Oh, that is awful. I'm sorry you had to experience that. What a tragedy for his family. My friend was from cancer, he got diagnosed, it went into remission, we all thought it was beat andthen it came back suddenly and within a week he had passed. Terrible, terrible stuff.

Shit, fuck, he had beaten that fucking cancer and he left so quickly. It must have been very hard to understand this situation.

Yeah, we had just thrown him a party in celebration. It was a completely shock. For it come back to aggressively, no one expecting it. Can't tell you the number of people that rallied together to try to find help, his company was going to fly him to specialist in the states, it was an amazing outpouring of love. But it was too much too fast. We had just lost another friend in our group a couple of years before, so it was especially devastating.

Imagine the pain of the parents, I can't even imagine what it must be like to see your son go. Well, I’m going to sleep, otherwise I’ll have to go smoke joints and drink beers to forget hahaha.
