The day at&t went totally down I couldn't lookup train arrival times, order number when picking something up, and had to ask for wifi at shops to do very normal things. Couldn't even call or text people...

yes, and - try to get from a to b w/o a smart phone. could be a real stunt in someone's live depending on their comfort zone and location of experiment.

That’s why I don’t like people of my age when they say “we didn’t had smartphones at our times and we survived”. Yeah great, try to go out now without it, you’re freaking lost. I can’t even remember telephone numbers. I have a little note into the phone cover with numbers 😭
