How many times in your life have you had moments where you could say -- wow, I feel this moment to be so true, and know it to be so from the depths of my heart, and there won't be a moment like this again. These moments are few and far in between - I can count about 4~5 times in my life that this has happened

I had a moment, super whatever situation, where I felt I got a flame inside of my stomach. And, huh, it felt great. I guess that counts.

I have one of these with my son every few days. Before that, I can count about five or so. Dad's last moments, birth of son, a few other transitions.

I was riding a motorcycle in Vietnam 10 years ago. It was the most present I have ever felt. I remember understanding that I could choose anything I wanted. There were no alarms, no concept of time or date. It was what I imagine pure freedom felt like. I have a terrible memory, but I remember this.

Almost every one of these moments revolves around my kids. There are so few moments that we can’t replicate in some way, but the moments we have with our children are fleeting and significant.

A short clip from this film reminds me of a variant of what you're getting at (timestamped) https://youtu.be/Bhb3FNDmyWc?si=dbT8wYCPp84xaySY&t=1359

I don't think this has happened to me yet. That is, except for certain amazing moments of awe I've seen in nature. Ok, I guess those will count towards it. Maybe 10 times? I think I should write them down and see.

I think these moments actually happen a lot more than we realize, but most of the time we're not present enough to recognize it and take a mental snapshot of the moment. Something I've been trying to consciously do lately is stop and take mental snapshots (and its hard)

I understand what you are referring to - that sense of complete peace and connectedness. I constantly read, write, create in dedication to this experience. I think ultimately these are moments of reconnection to our Self (capitol S intended)

i access this fairly reliably from certain live music. a few 1:1 platonic conversations full of love. two romantic situations where i had the big butterflies. the Truth to me is love, so this pattern makes sense to me

I had one moment exactly like that, when I was 11 years old. It’s the only moment that ever happened, and I think of it like several times a month lol. I have no idea why. It was pretty mundane. But somehow the happiest moment of my life.
