Perhaps that’s why we haven’t seen any major art movements in over a decade. Historically, the most groundbreaking most influential art came from the poor, from the USA and Europe.

minimal context but doesn’t track for me, it’s never been easier to learn how to create and share things to a wide audience thanks to the internet. so at least I’m very suspect that “the lack of great art” (needs definition) is due to lack of access or opportunity. It’s likely the opposite: tons of supply and competition due to ease. no monopolies on attention anymore.
