Discovery, and finding your principles is one of the meanings and joys of life - it helps you discern what you like and don’t like. It develops a sense of aesthetic, it develops a visceral understanding of the abstract. It’s a powerful guiding tool, I think

“Finding a principle is a form of self-discovery.”

Oddly enough one of my favorite parts about it is that it’s in a non descript what looks like an American airport hotel conference room

All the while Bret Victor is spitting fire

his truth would’ve been relevant 50/20/11 years ago, is relevant now and most likely will still be in another few decades

some wisdom in that speech

proposed the same problem wrt (the lack of) feedback in patent novelty search, and was met with blank stares 🤣 with this video, I felt heard.
