We’re often so focused on the content, and the engineering and overthinking the what

These decisions that I’ve made in the previous point in the past are usually stems from some observation, or some insight, or something interesting that I thought about. Mostly because I was just curious about it, or just piqued my interest. I feel like I save these moments for a rainy day

I am an idea hoarder. I have a lot of ideas and I just got a hold of them for a while. Not really knowing what to do, insights and decisions waiting to be unleashed into the world at some point in time (I hope) And they usually just kind of sit around waiting, sitting around until I know what to do with them

So I have all his contacts or I have all these ideas and they just kind of sit around. I almost find a way to be important is because if I just keep doing things, all the ammo I’ve hoarded in the form of ideas, I’ll know when to fire them into the world. I’m just thinking about how it’s mostly about preparation

Why do we prepare? It’s mostly loading the gun and preparing all this ammo in the form of ideas for moments that show up to unleash the idea into the world. And mostly it’s about that when. When will you let the idea into the world?

When you do something matter is not - I haphazardly do things whenever I feel like doing them. It’s actually just all about preparation. Being prepared to be able to unleash an idea at any moment in time because you’ve prepared it goes a really long way to being able to do some thing that looks spontaneous

Ideas are not dime a dozen. They do matter. But I think more important than that is when they need to be unleashed matters a lot. And being prepared to unleash them when they are ready to be unleashed means you need to be prepared way before the when comes along

At least more often than not, I think doing things really enables me to act. Acting is a consequence of a decision that I made a while ago. More often than not I’ve already made the decisions in the past, I’m just not sure if I’m ready to act on them or not

It’s like trying to make a dish perfect but you take too long

But by the time you’ve got the dish to be perfect, the meat that you were going to use for the dish is already spoiled. So now the dish is ruined

and ironically, perhaps paradoxically, focusing too much on the what changes our perception of the when, delaying it until it's no longer in context of the original timing that the what would have benefited from in the first place

Honestly I don’t have control over timing so who cares - I’m going to focus on what I can do

It’s kind of a weird way to sum all of this up but that is also how I feel

Ever so important in life. And we so often play such a small part in our ability to control timing.

Timing is everything. I wholeheartedly agree.

Take the RWA stuff for example. A lot easier to go full force on this stuff now as the market sentiment has changed + now RWAs are trending.

When seems impossible - but mental models to make prediction about the future, while updating when you get a prediction wrong, can make entering that wave barrel of opportunity easier 

Mind building, note taking & thesis making are big in my wheelhouse
