Focusing on something, means that implicitly you have to make millions of decisions to NOT focus on something. For the amount of care that you have to have in order to focus on something (at one moment at a time) - there is an even bigger amount of "un-care" that you have to have towards all the other paths not taken

These "un-cared" for paths, these futures you choose not to go down at any point, you have to make peace with these. There are so many possibilities, no wonder we have so many ideas of what can be, but there can be only one version of what you imagine at a time. It's mostly decisions on what not to do vs what to do

This means people focusing on you (or your thing) is an anomaly - they could've focused on a million other things, but focuses on you instead.

Allocating finite resources against infinite options. My biggest bottleneck is me. I find it easier to frame it as your “strategy is just a fancy word for prioritization”.
