Not sure I'll ever bother with pay-with-phone — I'd still carry credit cards as a fall back, and as it stands I still carry cash as fall back for credit cards

On the other hand it’s rather freeing to be without and you adapt quickly to the change: You make sure to bring your wallet. You sit down at your computer or visit the library for research. Contacting others becomes much more intentional yet far more infrequent. I was without my phone for a week while solo traveling a couple years back and I had the most memorable trip of my life.
