thus is the test of a true global society; if we were globalist as an entire species it wouldn't be 90% of our destiny but more like 10-20% right?

It's so true, even if we wish it wasn't. I was born near the end of communism in Albania, so I grew up during the transition from a totalitarian state to a democracy. I got to see firsthand what severe economic hardship looks like, and it gave me a unique perspective on freedom. It probably explains why I have such a deep appreciation for democratic values and why I see the world the way I do (more globally vs nationally)

I would say the internet has somewhat decreased the impact of location. But ig that just means that time's has impact increased. I would be a VERY different person if I was born in a pre-internet era

That's why this self-made millionaire lore of libertarians is intellectually dishonest imho. The 90% seems like a plausible way to think about free will. My meditation teacher (app) Sam Harris says there is no free will. What if we have 10% agency?

My question is—what isn't destiny? Throughout history, there have been countless examples of people who defied the norms of their time, shaping their lives and taking control of their destiny. Or perhaps their destiny was precisely to become the creator of their own fate, to challenge the idea of a predetermined path. I believe in both. I love astrology and find it to be accurate, as an example, but I also believe that we can change our stars and planets.
