minimal context but doesn’t track for me, it’s never been easier to learn how to create and share things to a wide audience thanks to the internet. so at least I’m very suspect that “the lack of great art” (needs definition) is due to lack of access or opportunity. It’s likely the opposite: tons of supply and competition due to ease. no monopolies on attention anymore.

I actually think it’s lack of trauma and things to say. Art usually comes from a place where things aren’t good - it doesn’t come out of good times like the baroque, it comes from hard times and I think we’ve had a lot of good times lately, so not a lot of art is actually how I think of it
