apps that want to monetize early on need to have a freemium model try it out, and pay if it solves a problem for you e.g. i happily pay monthly for openai, duolingo, and edreams. why? because i use them often, and they solve a problem for me. when that happens, i don’t care about the pricing same can happen in crypto. if it makes your life easier or helps you earn smth in return, payment shouldn’t be a problem. study /supercast on pricing i agree there need to be a fix in our industry if we want to onboard new users. pricing needs to be displayed in stables and let users pay for it with a credit card

Depends :) Free tiers can be expensive in aggregate and often bring fraud and abuse. They have a support burden even if not officially offered. It’s work to slice your app up into upsells and some folks never convert anyway.

I didn't notice this was in /consumercrypto – I agree most consumer apps should have free tiers or ad / fee based models since consumers generally don't pay. (but I'm glad I don't for /glass for example. Way simpler operationally)
