If I'd known there'd be a coin named fartcoin eventually, when I started in crypto 10 years ago I probably wouldn't have stuck around. Now I am in too deep and can't leave.

Sorry, missed this. Are there any invariants that should always be maintained the protocol? I'm thinking unique usernames is obvious as well as message validity, anything else?

Hey @dwr.eth, who can I reach out to regarding smart contract related questions for farcaster? We at Phylax Systems are currently doing some research and would be happy to have a small chat with a dev.

You could also Shamirs Secret Share a private key and write the different parts down on paper and give it to the members of the multisig (or hide in different location if for yourself). That will definitely work as cold storage.

If you really want to keep them cold you can use the Parity one.

* security * privacy * UX If you think you can make even the smallest improvement to any of those you should absolutely do it. What's missing on this list?

Denmark is getting rid of all bank notes older than 2009 and removing the 1000dkk(130eur) note. They really want to control everything we do here.

A smart contract programming language that prioritises readability, simplicity, and auditability is not just a good ideaโ€”it's essential. In our ecosystem, unlike in fields like aerospace engineering where only experts can design and build aircraft, anyone can build and deploy smart contracts. This democratisation of building capabilitiesโ€”which is a feature to be clearโ€”means we can't just cater to the 1% of highly skilled developers who excel at memory optimisation and EVM intricacies. Instead, we need to empower the 99% who could easily make costly mistakes. Built-in guardrails ensure safer development, and readable code is invaluable for auditors and the broader community. Most people appreciate a language that makes their work more secure and accessible, even if they might not admit it. You may not like this approach, and I'm not here to patronise, but complexity is the bridge to simplicity and not the end goal.

A day rarely goes by where I don't think about the fact that crypto picked Discord over Matrix. People argue that Discord "just works", which is true, but we of all people should be prepared to use apps with minor bugs or inconveniences here and there. Especially when Matrix actually is a decentralized open source solution that shares the values that should matter to people in crypto.
