5 things i like about the channel changes: 

1. the banner is a great surface area for designs, announcements, ctas
2. the button / link is super helpful (1 and 2 work well together)
3. the announcement feature (controversial, i know) is super powerful tool, and with great power comes great responsibility
4. much easier to moderate with the bottom up member-invite approach versus a top down spam-control approach
5. the home feed feels like a place again (still think this can be improved by excluding certain channels from home)
