is there a way for casts to be published directly as a mirror post after you hit “cast” here? allowing thinking to be shared in the feed and collected in a dedicated profile/space for collective reference?

i am curious to find out if people would gift a fiber internet connection to a home in Africa. the gift would be in the region of around $100 - full transparency in the process and the ability to see the home that has been connected. if this sounds interesting, let me know I have a vehicle being set up for this.

there is a difference between being digitally connected and digitally enabled. to bring Africa online and digitally enable many great minds we need new models. to shift the landscape and challenge legacy systems. models that create digital access, not just digital connectivity.

best way to search for a cast that peaked my curiosity - but I can’t remember who cast it as it was a while ago… I can remember the rough context/words used.

Any recommendations or suggestions. Who are the best ethnographers and/or social anthropologists that have published work (doesn't need to be peer reviewed) that has engaged with local communities in South Africa and Africa?

It’s incredibly easy to lay blame, rather than doing the hard work and thinking about how you might be able to contribute to viable solutions. 12 crypto projects that are actively working on new models and methods in the energy provision space. https://josh.mirror.xyz/fCVzII6hkG7Tp5OUcf10ytOnrdIMM4aVb9wmdLt2VjA

triggers for behaviour shifts that seem obvious with hindsight, might not have been ‘visible’ in the moment because we were so focused on ‘doing’ and had de-prioritised time for dreaming/imagining/questioning

Which projects in the crypto space are running experiments that are looking at different types or ways to manage paid subscriptions? Unlocking the interoperability offered by wallets and NFTs. As well as creating a recurring monthly fee paid by a subscriber?

What's the best piece you read or interacted with that speaks to incentive design? Looking for both traditional style pieces, but also ideas that have inspired you from different sources.

are there any crypto projects that are looking to reimagine/recreate the supply of power (electricity) using new and different business models? particularly interest in the ownership and funding layer that would support the supply deliver (infrastructure and governance). Context: power management in SA is broken.

Quick question for a Friday. What's your favourite app and device to jot down an idea/thought that is buzzing around in your mind that you wish to revisit later?

Expansive > defined Expansive curation unearths the value of community and promotes the discovery of different connections through encouraging the open participation and diverse dialogues. Human intuition, interests, curiosity, and moments of serendipity.

love watching us all become dilettante perfume blenders, poking inquisitive fingers through a great library of ingredients and seeing which combinations make sense for us, gathering experience - the possibility of better guesses - without certainty http://music.hyperreal.org/artists/brian_eno/interviews/detail92.html

I'm eager to learn more about Japanese cultural values and practices. Japan is on my travel list for 2023/24, in the meantime though any media content - books, videos, podcasts, movies that you would recommend would be most helpful. All suggestions welcome:)

Best book(s) that you have read in 2022 that have helped you better understand the changes in human behaviour that were triggered by the pandemic?

What does it mean to design for serendipity? How do we create an environment for this? What changes in our approach to the dialogues we have and how we invest our time? When we embrace the potential of serendipity do we grant higher value to the direction of travel as opposed to the end destination?

Pondering these words from Rem Koolhaas; “It is not possible to live in this age if you don't have a sense of many contradictory forces.”
