how do you backup your mac? time machine, drag and drop important files, something else? 

and if time machine - what drive do you use? its super slow for me

I have Time Machine on a Crucial USB-C SSD drive and also Backblaze. Time Machine is great for losing a file or corrupting a filesystem, or moving to a new machine. Backblaze I prefer to never use but it's there in case my house burns down.

It's much faster than the old USB-A HDD I had before, which was frustrating enough for me to spend the money to upgrade. Takes more like 5-10 minutes probably, but it's quiet enough I don't really notice when it's happening. That said, I am backing up daily-ish, so there's less data to move/write.

Do you find the SSD to be reasonably fast with Time Machine? My backups (every few weeks) take well over an hour which just discourages me from doing them often but the problem is very likely my drive
