People might try to exploit the system, must prevent that for sure. However, Ethereum relies on electricity and internet. It will not work after a nuclear war, right?

IMHO the social layer is what keeps things decentralized. Otherwise it is LSTs/restaking all the way.

#3 seems to address this: decoupling “weight” for incentive purposes, vs “weight” for consensus purposes sounds interesting. Would be interesting to see if such (seeming) incentive disalignment is productive and stable elsewhere.

Thanks a ton for reacting to the LST threat and also acknowledging all the other nasty attack vectors like P2P DOS etc. To me, the crux of the matter is that original ETH PoS was economically uncompetitive and thus attracted idealists. With LSTs that's no longer the case.

Goes to 7th century BC Archilochus. The cultural environment has evolved quite a bit since then, no wonder it is confusing to us. "The fox knows many things, but the hedgehog knows one big thing."

This goes very much in the direction of what alt-EVM-L1 guys talk about, eg, gnosis https://youtu.be/dimUOYzhkmk?si=015D86Ifc2XYgFmP .

Perhaps he means an execution layer node, so not a validator/staker?

Ah, right, thanks. There's an example in the whitepaper how redemptions work. Since the minimum Redemption Fee is 0.5%, I guess this means that 1LUSD=$0.995 is the price at which redemptions kick in.

Some things are meant to be protocols. Others apps/clients. I am working on a new DeFi primitive, which is obviously in the protocol category. It will have an UI though, that's a client presumably.
