I had the genius idea of trying to fix the rust on my van by myself. Ragretzzz lol idk wtf im doing 😆📉

I just had to do that to my truck.   The only thing I found that did anything was a grinder and stripping disks

Once you get it clean you have to paint it that day or it rusts overnight. I sprayed mine with self etching primer and then you can leave it like that for a long time and not worry about that section until you are ready to paint.  

Grinder can be found at princess auto for 20$

woman to woman-- i feel like you're doing it right tho... or you would just want to cut out the rusted pieces all together, refabricate with new metal, and weld
