What is different about culture now where people complain that things are “cash grabs”? Video games, movies… what has shifted to cause people to get upset that products are made to make money?

specifically US culture, in japan they’d have to apologize for i.e raising profit margins on a product. in the case of games/movies maybe proliferation of freemium

Was seeing some movie critics say Moana 2 was a cash grab and I was like… it’s a movie created to make money, that’s partially the point of the business. Was just odd to see a kids movie called a cash grab by people in the industry
