most dumb decisions you see in the wild are probably the function of a hidden resource constraint you don’t really understand some bad decisions are actually just pretty dumb tho

Whenever I inherit a codebase - I try to give people the benefit of the doubt that they made some decisions at the time because of the information they had at that time and made the best possible choice Assume positive intent.
