I like this idea, but think you'd see massive drop off after year two It’s less about the salary or commitment to do it for 10 years and more about the fact that startups are just really hard / most won’t make it

i agree, but i think the 10 year commitment will force self selection for people who play long term games and will be willing to pivot a ton or see ideas through

Maybe I'm naive, but I'd like to think that most people who raise venture have the 10-year journey in mind, and know that if their company succeeds, it will take 10 years or more Even if you take 2 years to get to Series A (meaning you've vested half of your equity) many VCs will make you reset your vesting schedule during the round to keep you in the game longer Seems to have the same effect as what you are proposing - do you think there's a meaningful difference between resetting a vesting schedule and making the hard commitment up front?
