I would start an open source effort to create a standard for in-wallet apps. As much as I love the paradigm of having independent web apps or mobile apps connect to an external wallet, I think we'll soon be hitting the limits of what can be done in terms of UX... and while that UX works, it's not user friendly enough to be mainstream. We should start working on in-wallet apps. What if we turned the paradigm upside down: Instead of wallets connecting to the app, what if it was the app connecting to the wallet instead? 👀 Think about like TG mini-apps or FC frames but tailored to provide an outstanding in-wallet experience with very opinionated design guidelines (cf https://developer.apple.com/design/human-interface-guidelines). The wallet would offer oustanding and *standardized* UX flows for all onchain actions to provide a coherent UX accross apps. Right now, from the wallet, you have an embed web browser but I think we can all agree the UX really sucks.

I would make some prompts that make it feel more like a wallet that you “save” in rather than mostly exchange coins. Something to make the USDC pop out a bit more maybe as a “wallet” rather than now it just seems like another token in there

A quick UX thing: Add the ability to transfer USDC to my "USDC" balance on Coinbase. I don't want to transfer to my USD balance. Every time I have to then login to CB and convert the USD to USDC 🤷‍♂️ I would even remove the USD option. If I want USD, I can transfer to my bank immediately (which is great btw). On Coinbase, I want to hold it as USDC to get the associated yield.

go all-in on smart wallet with the product goals of: 1. user doesnt even realize they are getting a wallet (it's just "a new app account that I can have money in. sweet.") 2. coinbase brand feels invisible to the end user (it feels native to the app they are in) 3. absolute minimization of clicks to do anything (allowing the app to define what are high-risk activities and what are not)

for wallet.coinbase.com, after you've created a smart wallet, deprioritize marketing content and make core wallet features more prominent. the marketing content is so visually stimulating, you may not notice core buttons/tabs like buy, receive, and assets. marketing ctas are needed, but in another spot.

Had a discussion about this with @emma last Friday at Farcaster Friday in SF! :D It might sound counter intuitive in terms of branding, but i would change the name: de-brand it. Adding "Coinbase" to the name creates a lot of confusion imo. It's like, "are my assets actually stored on Coinbase? Will Coinbase be able to access my assets?". Also, as a native defi user, when I hear coinbase, I hear centralization. I have to mentally works against that to force myself to use coinbase wallet. hope that helps!

1. the browser should let you add your own "apps" and save them on home screen. CBW is a better place for most of my PWAs than Safari. 2. need to proper double down on the feed idea. the stuff that pops up there is a bit stale and it's too overwhelming at the same time. long term this should become a client for the /base channel with heavy moderation. 3. ETH<>SOL swap is a big blocker. it forces me to go through coinbase which is sometimes too big of a barrier.

would love for ppl to be able to kyc directly in the wallet to use the onramp vs doing so through a coinbase account so when we recommend ppl onboarding, we can send them to cb wallet first!
