Honest take here: the person trying to shame you for an ad containing the word “pimping” was just rage baiting for engagement. On the coin side, honestly, only real request or recc from my side would be to also show more love and attention to other base-native protocols ala clanker and the likes. I don’t engage on shitcoining/“content coins” myself much atm given the macro we’re in, but respect the builders who are trying to tackle problems like block 0 sniping. Zora let themselves down on their infra in that respect imo. Hope to see Zora learn from it and become a better platform, but equally hope to see more kudos going to the smaller builders who are currently leading the pack as far as infra goes. Either way, keep coining tbh. Don’t let maldy CTers get you down. If times were bullish they’d think of you as a god for dropping a play.

I don’t understand coining, a lot of people gonna get hurt, it’s like you’re building a betting shop where the vast majority will get hurt, your platform will make a killing on micro fees and the coin creator will rug everyone, now if everyone was to drop a coin, you won’t have buyers, just sellers. IMO

You’ve been the most supportive person I know of builders of all kinds in the space for almost a decade. One tweet doesn’t negate that for me. And I was happy that it didn’t mean what I thought it did when I dug into the context of the tweet. Long term I think your work will elevate everyone in the space.

I love experimentation, and I really appreciate what you’re bringing to Base, I know you’re trying to do the right thing, it’s in your DNA. Acknowledging this kind of mistake, because some people were affected, shows that you’re serious about growing without doing things carelessly. Since you’re asking for our thoughts , as an artist, I personally don’t plan to tokenize my work. Some will, whether artists or creators, and I hope they find value in it. I’ve tried tokenizing some of my photos or content, but I don’t really see myself as that kind of content creator, I don’t have the mindset for it, or the need. My experience wasn’t exactly fun. I feel like you need a large following to create any real momentum, maybe I’m wrong, but to me it feels odd to tokenize just anything. 👇

glad to see the apology, because that clearly crossed a line. I hope some of the other feedback from creators and artists gets more consideration. At the moment, the approach comes across as being super extractive of artists and creators, but I'm open to learn.

appreciate the honesty, need to start somewhere - first steps always take courage moving the convo forward - at Collab.Land we saw royalties for NFT communities as sustainable revenue for communities but NFT marketplace incentives killed royalties with the agentic internet (AI), payment rails are critical creators (using LLMs where code becomes content) will usher in new forms of communities asset tokenization needs to have a revenue model beyond speculation happy to discuss further
