Yabbut… have yet to see an explanation for how your presence isn’t already an issue for the people who live there. Roads, potable water, cellular*fiber networks… physical infrastructure all the way down. Rhymes with Airbnb presence in neighborhoods as a wrecking agent. For the record, was briefly an Airbnb host when it first started and experienced the full glare of the neighborhood. Not a full blocker but something to be solved better than with eg gated communities

Yeah the network state stuff has struck me as too dogmatic high modernist in its approach... you bring up a lot of good pragmatic points. I'm reminded of reading polystate when it came out. Kinda makes me want to reread and compare: https://www.amazon.com/Polystate-Thought-Experiment-Distributed-Government-ebook/dp/B00IM5EM7W I do think there's some there there particularly with the need for devolution and subsidiarity from increasingly clunky and obsolete nation states like I dunno I can't think of any
